Hi Cassidy.

In order to change the ipod's name, simply connect it to your computer.
Wait for it to appear on the itunes resource list (left pane of itunes).
And click on the ipod's name - it becomes editable, so just change it.

The best way to make sure you have only the songs YOU love on YOUR ipod, the best way would be to automatically sync your content from itunes to your ipod.

If you are not sure how to do it (this might need a few configuration updates, because it was somebody else's ipod), check the syncing section in our step-by-step ipod&itunes video guides.

good luck!

There might be other ways, but they are not as straight forward as using itunes.
If you have a problem installing or using itunes, I suggest you check our itunes video guides.

Hi Christopher,

here's my advise:

1. Make sure you are syncing your ipod properly.
2. Try reseting your ipod.
3. Try restoring the ipod to its factory settings.
4. Try getting help from an Apple store.

You can get full details on how to do 1, 2 and 3 by watching our step-by-step itunes & ipod video guides.
I believe that since this is your first ipod, you'll find a lot of the videos' content useful.

Bare in mind, that the ipod nano videos cover the ipod classic as well.

Hope this helps,
Paul.

I just received my first ipod yesterday I have the iPod Classic with 160GB.
I also have iTunes. My small problem is even though I synced my iPod with iTunes, I get a message saying the iPod wasn't synced properly. Am I doing something wrong? Can someone give me step by step instruction with this thing? This should be a simple procedure but I can never get stuff like this on the first "go-'round".

Hi Jessica.

All the settings on what to sync to your ipod and how to do it, is done using iTunes.

Our videos guides explain these features in full details (being very important!).
The guides are here: http://www.ipod-manual.com
And you should check out these sections under the itunes chapter:
# How to automatically sync (move content) your iPod and your iTunes library
# How to manually add content to your iPod

Hi eric.

Yes, you can record voice memos on your ipod, but:
1. as far as I know you can do it either on the ipod classic or the ipod nano.
2. you need an ipod compatible microphone, which can be purchased from apple.

After you record your notes you can sync them to your computer.

Hope this helps.

I hope that you can help me... i have spent the better part of a few hours trying to figure this out, with no success.

I am looking to use a digital voice recorder to download personal notes and comments onto my mac. Someone told me that I can use the ipod for that. Is that true? If so, which ones? The shuffle, nano, classic...?

help
